  1. I can sympathize with what you’re going through. When I was younger I had some weird quirks and OCD like tendencies. I would have obsessive thoughts, and have to counter those thoughts with more thoughts, often draining my energy and making me depressed.

I think mine was mainly a mental kind of OCD. I never had to wash my hands too much or anything. I think there’s a certain kind of OCD called “pure O” or pure obsessive OCD. I believe that’s what I had.

I say “had” because I don’t have too many symptoms anymore. Meditation really helped me with this.I still have some tendencies, but it’s nothing too serious. In fact sometimes it’s fun. My dad’s the same way, which is where I suppose I got it. He seems to have conquered it as well though, as he once mentioned that he enjoys counting squares.

I really can’t imagine living with it when it was at its most severe though. But I think awareness and the virtues the site extols are guaranteed antidotes (as you mentioned) to the disorder.

Just know that you’re not alone. :-)

Ah, bless your heart. Thank you. When a child I counted squares, circles, objects, patterns…! But that’s so passe now! :) LOL! I have no idea why that particular ritual stopped in favour of all the other ones but there you go! Yes I’ve heard of pure O, never quite cottoned on to what it was though as it didn’t sound like an officially recognized issue when I investigated it, I might be wrong.
Always good to hear from you Fred.
