Simple Kindness
- “We were shopping in the mall and decided to stop for a quick bite to eat. After having some burgers and feeling a little more rested we called for our waiter to pay. She informed us that someone had already paid our bill. We were amazed.”

Kill ‘em With Kindness
This is an old story, but I have never forgotten it years after reading it.
Thought I’d share it.
I also think it fits the true spirit of Christmas as originally intended.
It is the story of a guy who gets mugged and then has the most unusual reaction to his mugging.
The thing I most enjoy about this is the conscious thinking-on-the-toes and complete in-the-moment awareness of the would be ‘victim.’
Lately, whilst quietly people-watching, I became acutely aware of a common tendency for us to react before our brains engage. Something will happen and folks will say or do the stupidest things. You know…
Act first. Think later.
When challenged to expand on their absurdity and explain or justify fighting words or petty actions they blink sheepishly and cannot. In this instance anger, ego, testosterone, fear and judgment could so easily have played a part in the response to the mugging.
I am learning everyday to challenge things that pop into my head before I react, as in this post.
So this guy’s reaction hit home for me. See if it makes you think twice here.
